don't worry about your thighs, have you ever seen marathon runners? those girls have some of the smallest legs I've ever seen, it's very hard to build an unsightly amount of muscle on your thighs, not to mention muscle consumes calories so the more you have the more you'll burn just sitting there every day. In addition it's impossible to build muscle on top of fat, so in order to get to where you are afraid of going, you would litterally need to lose all of the fat on your thighs and then build lots of muscle, which can't be done with running alone, you would have to lift a lot of weights with your legs. 

Running would be very good for you, there's no need to worry about too much muscle. 

For even faster results and great body tone you should really try swimming

		<description>A number of years ago, I started doing 20 situps a day.  This effected a rather startling spot reduction.  I have not kept up religiously with it, but I have maintained enough benefit from it that if I consciously remember to **** in the gut et al., it appears as though I had in fact kept up with it.</description>
